On an average (data based on Class of 2007 and 2008), 4-5 students each year start their own ventures on graduation from SOM. 5 students in the SOM Class of 2008 (current second year students) have started or continued to work on their own ventures this summer.
You can learn about the Entrepreneurship related courses/faculty, club activities and other resources available at the SOM Entrepreneurship Club website (
http://students.som.yale.edu/clubs/e...hip/index.htm). Most students with entrepreneurial aspirations use the Entrepreneurial Business Planning class to work on their business plans. Also, Yale Entrepreneurial Institute (YEI) runs a summer fellowship program to encourage new technology related ventures. In summary, there are plenty of resources available to get students with such aspirations going!
Hope this helps!
