Hello!!
I'm excited to be flying down to Yale this weekend for an interview at SOM on Monday, I get in early morning Sunday, and have that day to explore Yale.
What do you recommend are the must see sights/eats/drinks of New Haven or Yale?!
Anyone (SOM students? applicants? anyone?!) want to join me for dinner or a drink!?
Thanks! Call or email me.

Hi Sumit
I'm going to be in New York on Sunday, otherwise I would have loved to show you the "sights" of New Haven.
A few quick suggestions.
1. Take a tour of Yale College. Sunday tours are at 1:30 pm. http://www.yale.edu/visitor/tours.html
2. If you're art inclined, go to the Yale Art Gallery: http://artgallery.yale.edu/
Here's a list of guided tours for Sunday:
1:30 PM "Masterpiece Tour of the Collection" A Gallery docent leads this interactive tour.
3:00 PM "From Tea to Absinthe: The Art of the Beverage" Jenny Reisner, undergraduate Gallery Guide
4:00 PM "Modern Alienation: Portraits in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries" Sarah Ramirez, undergraduate Gallery Guide
3. Check out http://www.infonewhaven.com/ and http://www.mba.yale.edu/MBA/students/yalenewhaven/index.shtml
If you're going to take the SOM tour on Monday, I'll meet you as I take that tour.
Best of luck on your interview and I hope you enjoy your Sunday!

Yazad,
Thanks so much for the recommendations! Looking forward to it definitely. I will be taking the 10am SOM visit, and then have an afternoon interview. Hope to catch you around..

I'd offer to hang out on Sunday, except right now I'm sick with a fever so it's best if you stayed away from me at least until after your interview. I've missed the last two days of classes, so it's no joke!
For areas to check out:
Cheap food: Broadway area, which is by Elm and York.
More expensive food: The side of the New Haven green on Chapel.
Bars: Scattered. Richter's, Bar, Playwright, Anna Liffey's, and Archie Moore's are a few that SOMers frequent.
Other places of general interest:
As Yaz suggested, the Yale tour is a good one to go on. I would also suggest looking at places where you may consider living (because ultimately, it matters!). Check out this thread for info on different areas to live (http://som-talks.som.yale.edu/forums/showthread.php?t=721).
