Hi,

My name is Farid Dadashev and I am a second year Yale MBA student. Basically, the concept of the CEO leadership institute is to bring together CEO's of top-tier firms across the world so that further researches as well as studies could be undertaken regarding their managerial and leadership styles. The institute is headed by prominent Jeff Sonnenfeld, who is also my professor for Strategic Leadership Across Sectors class. The Leaders Forum is bringing CEO's to campus. During my past semester, we had Fredrick Smith (CEO of FedEx), Carlos Ghosn (CEO of Nissan / Renault), and Wilbur Ross (CEO of WL Ross & Co) come to campus and speak to students regarding their past experiences and challenges. Each speaker usually allocates around 45 mins for students in case they have questions. It has always been a very rewarding experience for me and my classmates to attend Leaders Forum sessions since exposure to such high-caliber people help me better understand what they did back then to become so successful. Also, prior to each session a group of 15 students would get together with each speaker for lunch.

Leaders Forum is just one of the channels that supplies high level speakers to campus. I am now taking the class called "Leading a Global Firm" by Dean Jeff Garten and as part of the class, Dean Garten invites CEO's of leading global firms such as Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, KPMG, Campbell Soup, Pfizer, any many others to talk to students. There are only 30 students in my class which translates into more personal setting when it comes to interacting and communicating with each guest speaker.
