Hi, I am from India and presently I am working in Indian office of large US I-Bank. I have done engg. and also MBA. I wanted to know whether my previous MBA wil l be a factor that will weight against me in admission. Unlike other applicant, my undergrad degree is 4 year degree so theoretically I do not need any PG degree. I have good acads and excellent scores. But I am worried due to my MBA. Many schools like columbia do not entertain applicants with an MBA. Also, why is the percentage of international students so low at Yale? Does it mean tht its difficult for international applicants to get admission at Yale? or the no of international applicants is less?

Hey Prav Singh,
There was a similar question asked in a different thread earlier. I am just going to copy and paste my reply to that question. Please find it below.
International Students -> Stanford - 30%, HBS - 32%, Yale - 22%
Women students -> Stanford - 35%, HBS - 34%, Yale - 39%
Ok Yale has lower % of international students. But did you know that Yale has the highest % of women among top b-schools?
My point is that there are many ways you can measure diversity. International students’ % is just one of them. The other meaningful parameters are by gender, professional background (for example there’s a school in north east which boasts of 40% + international students but has 40% + engineers as well!. By the way Yale has only 12% engineers, and you will find that Yale has the best professional diversity among the top b-schools)
What I can tell is that the diversity at Yale is as good as at any other business school. If you have any specific concerns regarding international students at Yale please let us know.
So that was the end of my pasted reply. Now coming back to your other questiions. Firstly, regarding number of international applications. Last year 45% of the total applications received were from international students. Now does this mean that it is difficult for an international applicant to get into Yale SOM (compared to domestic applicants) - the answer is NO. I guess (its a wild guess) the reason why Yale SOM receives so many applications from internationals might partly be caused due to the huge brand recognition of the parent university worldwide. It might also be the case that applicants living outside of US perceive Yale SOM to be a easy school to get admitted to (beacause BusinessWeek happens to be a popular magazine, but the rankings give a completely wrong picture about business schools when it comes to difficulty in getting admitted) and therefore just apply assuming they will get in easily, and at least the data shows that is not the case, Yale SOM is in fact one of the toughest schools to get into if you look at the selectivity numbers and compare it with peer schools. Secondly, regarding your question on PGDM/MBA from India. I remember a recent graduate from Yale SOM who had a MBA from FMS, Delhi. So its not as if you cant get into to Yale SOM. But you might have to give a good reason as to why you need a second MBA.
