Hi!

Does Yale have any kind of pre-term session before the start of the first year? Many schools offer a math review and other skills review to be better prepared to jump right in to the quantitative aspects of initial coursework. If not, how prepared do students feel for these subjects, if they haven't been working in financial services or other highly quantitative disciplines since undergrad?

thanks!

Hi Bhat,

We were offered couple of online courses to do over the summer. One was on accounting and one quantitative. I have an engineering background so I only did the accounting course and it was sufficient to get me started with the b-school courses.

Another thing that I would like to add is that the first six weeks at the school covers most of the basic stuff that you need to know before the perspectives courses commence. What it means is that if you do not have a quantitative background then you might end up attending lesser number of parties compared to others during the initial 6 weeks :). But I guess at the end of the 6 weeks you should be as comfortable as anyone else in the class.
