Hi,
I have heard it so many times that YALE is good for career switch. I also want to do so from IT to IB. I chose Yale for this reason as well. But in all the litrature and sites I see only a statement.
Could anybody tell me reasoning behind this?

Appreciate any response.

Hey mba2007,

Yale SOM does a great job with IB placements. Among the many reasons why graduates from this school transition smoothly to IB are
1) Yale SOM is a core school for almost all the bulge bracket i-banks
2) Proximity to NYC makes it easy for us to travel for networking events
3) Finance professors are among the best out there
4) The alumni at all the i-banks are more than willing to help us out

Feel free to contact any of us if you want to know more about getting into IB from Yale SOM.

Hi Swadeep,

could you put some light on new curriculum? How this might be more helpful than other courses.

We are just 6 weeks into the course and havent yet experienced the new curriculum. We have our mid-term exams next week and the week after that is when the new curriculum commences. We have 3 perspectives - Competitor, Investor, and State & Society for the fall term. So by December we will be able to give a good answer to your question.

As of now all that we can say is that these new courses will help us learn management functions with some perspective (investor, customer etc.). It will also help us understand the impact of one function on the others as we are not learning functions in silos. Most importantly the recruiters and alumni are excited about the new curriculum. We have had more than 30 company presentations in the past month or so and all the recruiters who have come on campus believe that the new curriculum will help us prepare better to face the challenges in the corporate world today where you no longer can be a spe******t in one domain.
