View Full Version : Recommendations
Dear administrator
I'm currently employed in my father company (a company which I, along with my father, established) my father is the C.E.O. while I'm vice .C.E.O. My question is: from whom should I send the recommendations (since my direct supervisor is my father)?
Thank you for your answer.
And have a nice day!
Lior.

Hi Lior,
Are there any other employees at the company besides you and your father? If so then I would suggest having another senior colleague or a client write the recommendation.

Thank you for your answer,
In the company there are 9 employees (beside us), 2 are under my direct supervision. There is only one more senior colleague who is my brother. The options I have in mind are: direct employee, client, bank manager, cooperative business C.E.O. or professor from my undergraduate university.
I would appreciate your advice of the best two recommenders from the above (each of the recommenders knows me more than one year)
In addition, if there is an option to submit more than two recommendation letters I would gladly use that option.
Again,
Thank you very much.
And have a beautiful day!

Dear lior,
You can always submit more than two recommendations if you wish, so that is not a problem. In terms of who to choose, it really depends more on the quality and nature ofthe relationship than on the specific title. We are looking for input from the people who know you and your work best. All other things being equal, it is better to choose a work reference over an academic one, and better to use a supervisor or client over a direct report. Also, we would suggest that you not use a family member if at all possible since that raises credibility issues.
I hope this helps,
Bruno
Dear Bruno
Your answer helps me and provides me the information I need.
Thank you.
