Hi Team Yale,

I am applying to Yale in R1. I have a few questions with regards to the application procedure:

1. The medium of instruction in my undrgrad was English, so I am seeking a TOEFL waiver. Do i have to send a formal request for the waiver or can I mention the reason for TOEFL waiver in the optional essay?

2. Does the GMAT official report have to be send before the deadline? The online application has an option for self reporting the scores. Can that be used for application review or is the official report a must?

3.Is there a way to check whether the transcript has been recieved by the admission office. I am an international applicant and the transcript may take some time to reach.

I will be grateful to get a prompt response to these queries.

Thanks and regards,

1. If you attended a four-year undergraduate institution where English was the language classes were taught, then you receive an automatic TOEFL waiver.

2. The GMAT score does not have to be received before the deadline; however, you must clearlify alert us when its arrival is anticipated.

3. You can check the status of your application online once you have submitted it. There you can determine what materials have been received. Be aware that it can take some time to process received materials.

I hope these answers help.

Hi,

Thanks for your prompt response...:)

I have requested for an official report to be sent to Yale. As it might take some time to process I understand from your response that the "self reported score" would suffice for evaluation purpose.

Hope you don't mind my asking again...just making sure...:)

Thanks and regards,

targetyale,

We can use your self reported GMAT scores until we receive the official report. We receive these electronically now, so there is not as long a processing time.
