I was wondering if Yale SOM views word limits strictly. For instance, if my first essay was 570 words or so, would that be looked upon poorly by the admissions committee?

Hi Brian,
We don’t count the number of words in your essay, so it’s fine to go over a little bit. We ask that candidates keep within a reasonable range and adhere to the guidelines as much as possible.
