Is it possible to go straight from a PhD program to the Yale MBA program? The key issue is whether my lab work experience counts. I haven't been in a classroom for 4 years, so my work is essentially a reasearch oriented full time job. Do these 4 years of work experience count?

Yes, we would consider that full-time work experience.

I'm not sure if my original question was clear enough. The 4 years of lab work I'm referring to is the work required to complete my PhD. Since the classroom portion of my program ends after two years, the rest of the time is spent doing research albeit in academia and not for a biotech or pharma company. I have experience with teamwork, managing costs, planning projects, etc. and my work is very "disease focused" but it is not in industry. Given these details, does your answer still hold? Sorry to make you answer again. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for clarifying. We have candidates from many backgrounds, with some coming directly from another academic institution to continue their studies. While your experience may be different than that of a typical business school student, it is still considered in the context of your entire application. In your essays it would be great if you could outline your past experience and tell us what you think you will add to the classroom discussion.
