Hello,
I have been working as an engineer in the aerospace and defense industry for the past three years and, for reasons I will explain in my essays, am looking to make a switch into investment banking. An MBA is obviously a critical component of making this career change. As required, I will be submitting two letters of recommendation; one from my current supervisor, and another from my professional mentor. I would also like to submit a letter written by a prominent investment banker who I have spent time with exploring the career change I wish to make. Would the admissions committee prefer a letter in the general recommendation format, or may I encourage this reference to write a focused letter regarding his experience with me and assessment of my ability to succeed in his industry upon earning an MBA from Yale?
Thank you for your time in considering my question.
James
