Hi,

I am a second year student and had the experience in supply chain management at BP prior to Yale. At SOM, we had the core class of operations management that provided many valuable insights and tools how to optimize operations performance a number of areas including SCM. In fact, we had a seperate section on SCM and its processes. Additionally, if you want to specialize in ops management, you may select a variety of classes at Yale. You can take a class on SCM and learn all about it. Regarding recruitment, we have a wide range of multinational companies coming to campus and recruiting to a number of divisions including SCM. Most of them are large and global with distribution centers across the US and world. If there is a company that does not come to campus for recruitment but you still want to interview with them, Career Office can will do their best to put you in touch with representatives of that company. The recruitment process for business development positions is even more straightforward since almost all companies coming to campus recruit to fill-in positions in bus dev departments.

Good luck,

Farid
