Dear Adcom,

The language of instruction in the Institute where I graduated from was English. Do I need to send any certificate issued from the Institute stating the same?

I have already taken TOEFL in February 2006 and scored 283 in CBT. If I need to send that score, I need to pay ETS to send the score. If I am able to get the TOEFL requirement waived, I can save some money (though it will be very less compared to the application and tuition fees). I can then donate this saved money to some poor people of my state Bihar in India. If I can also get it waived from some other Universities where I am applying, the total money saved will be substantial(around US 150$).

Warm regards,

Abhishek Chandra

Abhishek,

You do not need to submit your TOEFL score since your university courses were taught in English.

Hi,

Another question on TOEFL waiver.

Currently, I am pursuing for an international accounting certification - ACCA(postgraduate degree). The education is in English.

I haven't completed it yet, but I provide an official transcript on my progress as of now.

Am I eligible for TOEFL waiver?

Thank you

We consider all aspects of the application when making decisions. A score of 260 is below the average of our admitted students but is only one factor in gaining admission.
It's very important for the Committee to know that a candidate is proficient in English before starting the MBA program because a large percentage of the coursework involves team projects, discussion and participation. We look at the TOEFL score, in addition to your essay, GMAT AWA and interview (if invited) to gauge your English ability.
