Hi there,
Can you please comment on my profile and how good a match I am to Yale.

My profile:
Undergraduate: Electrical Engg (Univ of Madras, GPA: 3.7)
Masters: Biomedical Engg (Univ of Tennesee, GPA: 3.83)
Currently working at the Mayo clinic as a R&D associate in Clinical Research. ( will have just above 2 years of exp when starting work)
GMAT: 660 (Q:47, V:34)-AWA-4.5- I am seriously concerned on whether this will hamper my chances

I plan to specialize in international business/ Supply chain (Operations) management and I am largely impressed by the program at Yale. I started a healthcare sourcing company back in India along with my dad and we have been functional for over 3 years and doing good. My aim is to gain expertise on the finer details of supply chain management at an international level as I do not have any formal training and my ultimate goal is to go back and base myself in India and run my company more efficiently.

I can aver that SOM fits my interests to a T but would definitely like to know how the school will view my candidature.

Volunteering/Community camps: Actively participated in Blood donation camps and walks.

Leadership capabilities: President, IEEE students chapter
Vice-president, students dramatics association
President, National Sysmposium organizing committee at my undergraduate institute.

I would love to hear back from you guys and I sincerely hope to start at Yale fall 2007.

Thanks Much,
Vijay

Vijay,

Please visit the student profile page on our website (http://www.mba.yale.edu/MBA/students/profiles/class_statistics.shtml). This will give you an idea of how your rough profile compares with students in the Class of 2008. Although our average GMAT is 701, your score of 660 does fall within our 80% range of 640-760. Keep in mind that we accept students both above and below that average.

We cannot comment on your chances of admission without reviewing your official application. A crucial part of the application process is being about to tell your story in a comprehensive way, through the essays, recommendations and interview.
