GPA Calculation w/ mandatory pass-fail classes

I'm trying to puzzle through calculating my GPA. I spent my first two years at UCSD, which is on the quarter system. The second two years of undergrad I was at Brown. While there, majoring in English, about half of my classes were mandatory pass/fail. Is there any standard convention for calculating the overall GPA between the two universities and the pass/fail classes?

Hi Neil,

You should not try and combine the two GPA's but instead just report your GPA from UCSD and report separately your GPA from Brown. As for the pass/fail classes they do not need to be calculated as part of your GPA.
